St. Matthew Anglican Parish in Abbotsford recently donated a total of $3,000 to the Salvation Army medical clinic and the Archway Food Bank dental clinic.

The medical clinic will use its $1,600 portion to purchase a needed ultrasound doppler.

The clinic, located at the Centre of Hope on Gladys Avenue, is staffed by an on-site nurse and a nurse practitioner. Virtual medical care is also provided with some local doctors.

A NEW shop specialising in food and products for Newport’s Asian community has opened its doors.

Asian Food is based at 12 Clarence Place, not far from Newport city centre, and sells (you guessed it) Asian food and groceries.

Following a refurbishment of the building – with shelves and fittings installed inside and signage introduced to the exterior – the store officially opened its doors on Sunday, January 15.
