Buon appetito! Lovers of Italian cuisine can tune in to the Hoboken Museum’s “Mangiare: Cultural History for Foodies,” which explores Italy’s culinary heritage and is hosted by Carla Gambescia on Sunday, April 11, at 4 p.m.
Gambescia will host an interactive “salon” exploring Italian cuisine from antiquity to the present day. During the Q&A, participants will test their knowledge while discovering little-known facts and backstories of some of Italian cuisine’s most iconic dishes.
Gambescia’s has toured every region of Italy, mostly by bicycle, and immersed herself in its culture. In recent years, she has combined her passion for Italy with her skills as a career marketer and branding expert, acting as a consultant to and a collaborator with boutique tour operators. She conceived and co-led the Giro del Gelato bicycle tour, winner of Outside Magazine’s “Best Trip in Western Europe.”
Gambescia founded Via Vanti! Restaurant & Gelateria, in Mount Kisco, NY, in 2008 with the ambition of creating an environment and dining experience which would make guests feel like they stepped right into Italy.
The event will be live-streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. There is also an option to visit at the museum with up to 12 people.
