After a hiatus, Cincinnati’s celebration of Asian food and culture returns
CINCINNATI — A year after it was canceled, the Asian Food Fest is set to return this summer with some new additions.The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber announced the Asian Food Fest is scheduled to return August 7-8.The celebration of Asian food and culture will relocate to 2nd street between Elm and Walnut streets to ensure enough space for vendors, exhibits and attendees to safely participate. The 2021 festivities will feature new interactive and educational elements focused on unity and healing for the community.”This year’s Asian Food Fest will be a show of support and celebration of the Cincinnati region’s Asian community,” said Cynthia Oxley, director of Asian Food Fest. “We’re eager to bring our neighbors and friends together to celebrate Asian culture especially in a year in which Asian Americans have experienced devastating hatred and hostility.”Asian Food Fest celebrates the culture, cuisine, entertainment, and drinks of Asian communities including Cambodia, China, Hawaii, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. A portion of the proceeds from Asian Food Fest will benefit the Asian American Cultural Association of Cincinnati and future Asian cultural events in Greater Cincinnati. Event dates and activities are subject to change and will follow state-mandated COVID-19 guidelines. The event is free and open to the public.
