The Boom Squad will be hosting a food court with food trucks on Saturday, April 3 from noon-4 p.m. at the Boom Squad headquarters at 800 S. Evans Ave. Random Fill-Ups and Divas Cookin with fried fish, chicken wings, loaded fries and more. Come, eat good food and meet Boom Squad students. Another Boom Squad Food Court will happen on Saturday, May 1.

Calle Baja Street Fare, a project by the owners of Comfort by the Cross-Eyed Cricket, will soon be coming Downtown in the former Salad World location at Main and Second Streets. The menu will concentrate on tacos and casual Mexican street food. No opening date has yet been announced.

Commander’s Grill is once again open on the Boonville Square. A new bar and televisions enhance the space. You’ll find all your Commander’s menu favorites such as buffalo chicken meatballs, the triple Airship Burger, fried chicken sandwich with buffalo or Nashville Hot options, Hot Italian Subs and much more. Stop in Sundays for the fried chicken special meal with all the trimmings.

Dining Out for Life of Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana is raising awareness for Matthew 25 AIDS Services, Inc. with help from restaurants in Evansville and Henderson through the entire month of April. Participating restaurants include the Farmer and Frenchman, Metzger’s Tavern, Rockhouse on the River, Tacoholics, and Rookie’s Sports Bar and Restaurant in Henderson and the Gerst Haus, Cancun Mexican Restaurant, and Kanpai in Evansville, among others. The restaurants will be sharing information about Matthew 25 and how to donate to the cause. From April 28 – 30 an online virtual auction will also be held.

The Posey Humane Society is hosting a hot dog and cheeseburger fundraiser on Saturday, April 3 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Priceless Foods in Southwind Shopping Center in Mount Vernon. Raffle tickets will also be on sale. All proceeds go to benefit animals helped by Posey Humane Society.

Seton Harvest CSAhas open shares available for 2021. A full or partial share may be purchased at the beginning of the season. From mid-May through mid-November, shareholders receive a weekly box of fresh locally grown produce including whatever is in season at the farm.
