Agritech: CropIn joins European Carbon + Farming Coalition to decarbonise European food system

Bengaluru based firm CropIn on Tuesday announced that it has joined the newly formed European Carbon + Farming Coalition, an initiative by the World Economic Forum to achieve carbon neutrality goals of the European Green Deal.

With agriculture said to be responsible for 10% of the global greenhouse gas emission in Europe, CropIn hopes to take a farmer-centric approach to tackle the problem. The company will come up with climate-smart agriculture practices, identifying roadblocks to adoption, and designing solutions with economic, practical and ecological benefits to the farmers, CropIn said in a statement.

EIT Food joins European Carbon+ Farming Coalition to accelerate decarbonized and regenerative food systems

06 May 2021 — EIT Food, a food “innovation ecosystem” set up by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT), has entered into partnership with the new European Carbon+ Farming Coalition. 

The ambitious new coalition – established by the World Economic Forum’s CEO Action Group for the European Green Deal – aims to decarbonize the European food system, while maximizing other benefits such as soil health, farmer resilience and biodiversity.
