New Delhi, India – Tabassum Nisha lives in a shanty in a cramped corner of New Delhi’s Malviya Nagar neighbourhood with her five children.

BLUE SPRINGS, MO (KCTV) — A day after a local restaurant owner went on TV to explain why she was going against Jackson County’s mask mandate in places of public accommodation, the county’s environmental health department ordered the business to shut down.

The Jackson County Department of Environmental Health issued a suspension/revocation of permits notice to Rae’s Cafe on Friday morning. A sign on the business’ front door notes that the restaurant has been closed for “not following the Jackson County health order and causing a significant threat to the health and safety of the patrons.”

A new Latin restaurant is in the works on Block Avenue.

The new place, called Calle Latin Cuisine, is planning to open in the building formerly home to Flying Possum Leather, and more recently Distinctive Dwelling, at 33 N. Block Ave.

The business was registered with the state by locals Fredi Valle and Fernando Castillo.

The Athens location of Andy’s Frozen Custard, a franchise out of Missouri, is open on Broad Street near Hawthorne Avenue. Frozen custard means ice cream, basically, slow churned and high in butterfat. Andy’s also has concretes (a sort of Blizzard-type thing with frozen custard mixed with things like Oreos or strawberries or syrup), jackhammers (custard with a hot center), sundaes, splits, malts, shakes, freezes, sodas, floats and soft drinks brewed in Milwaukee.
