While plant-based meat and dairy markets are saturated with options, vegan egg substitutes have been somewhat limited – until now.

Growth of plant-based eggs

According to a report by The Plant-Based Foods Association, U.S. plant-based egg consumption rose 168 percent in 2020 and saw $27 million in sales. By 2022 the market is projected to grow into a $1.15 billion industry.

Despite the growing market, there are still relatively few players as producers look to develop vegan eggs that function like chicken eggs, with the ability to thicken, leaven, bind, and aerate, while maintaining a similar taste and texture.

Asian Food Truck Vandalized

An Asian food truck in Layton was damaged with racist graffiti over the weekend. Layton police Sgt. Tracy Hokum said Monday that it’s too early to know if it will be investigated as a hate crime. KTVX reported the “World Famous Yum Yum Food Truck” shared photos of the damage on its Facebook account on Sunday. New art inside Vinbero.

Kali and Kris Kelnero sat with Strom Peterson at a table outside the Vinbero wine bar in the former Cheesemonger’s Table space in downtown Edmonds. I noticed a sign that gave me hope they’d soon be open. I circled back and was able to speak with Kali on the forward momentum of this new venture.

The Kelneros, owner of craft cocktail bar Kelnero, took over the Cheesemonger’s Table space from Peterson and wife Maria Montalvo, and have been working to transform it into Vinbero.

SINGAPORE – As dining in remains off-limits for now, some food and beverage owners have forged ahead with new virtual brands that are available only for delivery and/or takeaway.

They include Dishoom, which offers contemporary Indian cuisine, and Ciao Chow, which serves pasta.

Both brands are by Mr Shaun Leong, 35, and Ms Joanne Toh, 28 – the couple behind Wildfire Burgers in Bencoolen Street, which made a comeback in June last year after closing in 2019.

Seafood restaurant Nude Seafood has launched Nudo Nihon (Nude Japan in English), featuring set menus for home dining.

Manny Pacquiao’s coffee brand to pack a punch in Middle East as distributor expands Filipino range​

Importer and distributor SandBox has signed exclusive distribution agreements with Filipino brands including Pacquiao coffee and Oh So Healthy snacks to launch products in the UAE and GCC region.

Oh So Healthy (OSH) is a healthy snack company based in the Philippines producing fruit crisps. Pacquiao 3-in-1 Coffee is a brand co-owned and developed by Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao which launched in the Philippines only in April this year.
