Most of the staff at two restaurants run by Edouardo Jordan, an acclaimed chef in Seattle who has been celebrated with some of the industry’s top awards, quit on Sunday after an investigation by The Seattle Times surfaced 15 allegations against him of sexual misconduct or unwanted touching.
The two restaurants, JuneBaby and Salare, were closed on Sunday after the staff departures, according to The Seattle Times. A representative of Mr. Jordan confirmed on Monday that nearly all of the employees at both restaurants had resigned.
Attempts to reach Mr. Jordan by phone and email on Monday were unsuccessful.
Crook’s Corner, a cornerstone in Southern food and an early spark in the creation of the Triangle’s modern dining scene, has closed.
The icon of seasonal, Southern dishes, torch-bearer of shrimp and grits and Chapel Hill mainstay announced the closing Wednesday in an email.
“With an incredibly heavy heart I must share the news that we are closing,” the restaurant wrote in an email. “The position we find ourselves in, exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis is no longer tenable.”

Kali and Kris Kelnero sat with Strom Peterson at a table outside the Vinbero wine bar in the former Cheesemonger’s Table space in downtown Edmonds. I noticed a sign that gave me hope they’d soon be open. I circled back and was able to speak with Kali on the forward momentum of this new venture.
